The Bishop’s staff or miter in the crown represents the twelve apostles, the first Bishops. The sword in the crown represents those who suffered martyrdom from the sword.

The hatchet or axe is another symbol of martyrs The fleur-de-lys or lily symbolizes purity and virginity

The Cross and the Crown:

The cross and the crown is often interpreted as symbolizing the reward in heaven coming after the trials of this life. This design features a portate cross, from the Latin – to carry. As Catholics we know that we must embrace our cross.  I have added the text to this design.
