"O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life. Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life."

My husband, Randy, and I were high school sweethearts and after school, married in 1973. In 1974 after a year and a half of marriage we had our first child, Katherine. I knew immediately that I loved being a wife and a mother. In 1979 our son Christopher was born. God had blessed us with two beautiful and perfect children. I loved every stage of their lives. We had sports, cheer leading, and scout activities for a lot of years. I enjoyed doing volunteer work at our parish in Amarillo. I have grown to love my husband more every year. We relocated to Coppell, Texas in 1989, and then to Argyle in 2001. We are members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton. Part of our spiritual formation is the Apostolate for Family Consecration.

Our daughter is now 33 years old, and living in New York. She is with the Religious order Sisters of Life, and her name is Sr. Bernadette Maria Pieta, of The Immaculate Conception. She is a joy to us, and has truly inspired our work in the pro life ministry.

Our son Chris is now 28, also a joy to us, and has a Masters in Civil Engineering as well as a P.E. designation. God brought Denise into his life, and they were married in 2002. She is a beautiful wife and mother, and we love her as a daughter. Together, they are such an inspiration to us as a Catholic family as they nurture our two grandchildren Ava Maria (2 ½) and Blaise Joseph (7 mo.). These grandchildren are the twinkle in our eyes.

In the 34 years of our marriage I have only worked outside of the home briefly. We are so fortunate to have a Board of Directors with so many gifts of business and spiritual gifts. It is my hope that I will bring the “Mother’s Heart” to Loreto House.

I am a faithful and a practicing Catholic. I love our Holy Mother Church so much. I have a very strong devotion to Our Blessed Mother, whom I believe has placed this apostolate in my heart. I do not presume to tell you that Our Blessed Mother speaks to me, but I can tell you that that through her, I am given the call of what Our Lord desires from me, and my family. She always brings me to her Son, Jesus, and I feel her loving hand, and words of wisdom saying, “Do what He tells you”. She has never led me astray. I had selected the name for this life center, however through prayer, I asked our Blessed Mother to please provide me with the name she preferred. Mary inspired the name Loreto House. There is no doubt that this is her will. I had seen a video about the Holy House of Loreto a few years ago, but had forgotten the details.

The Holy House of Loreto is the home of St. Ann and St. Joachim, Mary’s parents. This is where she was conceived. This is the house of the Immaculate Conception. This house is where she grew up with her parents teaching her about God. This house is where the Angel Gabriel came to Mary for the Annunciation. This is where the words “Hail Mary, full of grace” were first spoken. This place is where she gave her “yes” to life. This is where God, through the Holy Spirit, sent His son Jesus to us, to be born of this virgin mother. The house where the Incarnation occurred! This house is a sacred place where the holy family came to raise Jesus. Oh, what a place of love. It is no wonder that Our Blessed Mother summoned her angels to rescue this house and transport it safety to the little village of Loreto, Italy. The fact that this tiny house is so full of love inspires me. It inspires me to have our Loreto House be a place of great love, in serving God, by serving others. It will be a place of work and prayer. I am so grateful, and blessed to have the joy of being given this privilege to serve God in this way. I ask for your prayers for myself, and for all who give of their time, talent and treasure to Loreto House.

May God bless you abundantly,
Laurie Bollig
